March Madness: Lucky Stars Memory Wire Bracelet
Today’s project was a Mason Jar Sewing Kit. This is one of those DIY projects I see float by often on Pinterest, so I figured I’d take a stab at it.
Supplies:
Take the inside lid of your jar and trace around it on your scrapbook paper. Cut it out, ensure the size lines up exactly, and then set it aside for later.
Flip the screw lid upside down. Place your fabric scrap centered on the lid, then your felt scrap, then your slightly stretched out cotton balls. You can use two cotton balls here, but after trying both out, three felt “right” to me.
Place the inside lid on top and slowly push everything in. It should bulge out of the screw lid a bit. Tug the fabric from the inside gently to ensure a tight fit and trim any gross excess.
Use your hot glue gun and adhere the inside fabric ends to the inside lid, smoothing them flat as you go. Avoid getting glue on the screw lid! Once that’s done you can glue in that scrapbook paper circle you made at the beginning, which will not only look nice but also hide the fabric ends.

| My lid was a big mess because I tried to use Mod Podge before hot glue. Save yourself the trouble and just stick with the hot glue. 🙂 |
Add your sewing items and enjoy, or use it a gift! See you back tomorrow for the Fabric Gift Pouch project!
Today’s project was a Felt Gift Box. I used these box top and box bottom templates from How About Orange’s tutorial. My felt was cheap soft felt stiffened using Martha Stewart Water Resistant Fabric Stiffener. While it did the job, it left streaks and next time I make a felt gift box I’ll just spring for the higher quality thick felt instead.
Cut out the templates and tape them to your felt. Cut the felt along the template borders. Fold the seams in the appropriate locations.
Hot glue your triangular flaps inside the larger side flaps.
That’s it! Put the lid on the box and you’re all done.
