Protecting The Billionaire by Christina Tetreault
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Protecting the Billionaire features Allison, a member of the Sherbrooke clan, and Rock (Rocco), a marine intent on protecting those he cares for. Rock, who met Allison previously at his sister Addie’s wedding, finds himself entangled when he plays the part of fake-boyfriend for a night. The two quickly hit it off and turn fake into real.
There’s some danger lurking in the shadows: Allison has a stalker. Weird things keep happening and the reveal is a bit of a shocker. There are brief narrations from the stalker’s depraved head sprinkled throughout the book.
I found the story a nice, fast-paced read that had an enjoyable mix of mystery and romance, with just a couple of cons. Sometimes the main characters’ PoV shifts were in mid-scene with no white space or transition, so it was a bit jarring when that happened. I also would have liked a longer conclusion, maybe a jump of a few years just to see where they end up.
Protecting the Billionaire is available to read now. Though it’s part of the Sherbrookes of Newport series, it can be read as a standalone.
